These lay men and women are nominated by the pastor, trained, and prepared, then commissioned at a parish liturgy to serve in the ministerial role of assisting the priest and deacon with the distribution of the Body and Blood of Christ at Mass. Also, they distribute Holy Communion to ill and infirmed parishioners in their homes, hospitals, and nursing homes.

The lectors help to proclaim the "Word of the Lord" at all Masses.  They are usually assigned two Masses a month and can choose the Masses they prefer.

Ushers assist in the sacred space of our parish church by helping our parishioners and visitors find a seat, taking up the Sunday collection, assisting parishioners in presenting the Gifts of Bread and Wine at Mass and distributing the Sunday bulletin to our parishioners and visitors after Mass.
